1.7.1 Apply technology to the delivery of standards-based instruction.
    - I have met this standard by creating a webquest activity and was designed according to Colorado English standards for Grades 6,9 and 11. The activity was delivered through a website I created on Google Sites. Therefore, I have the ability to apply technology to the delivery of standards-based instruction.
7.2 Use technology to increase student achievement.
    - As I talked about in my technology intergration essay I have learned how to introduce such media as youtube, the internet and with my SMARTboard presentation now, SMARTboard teachnology to increase student achievement by getting students more involved through technology.
7.3 Utilize technology to manage and communicate information.
    - I have used Podcasting to help better communicate to students who may miss class and showed how digital storytelling can enhance learning.
7.4 Apply technology to data-driven assessments of learning.
    - This was done through my webquest as the students would receive data and the learn about such things and then be tested on that criteria later in a real world situation
7.5 Instruct students in basic technology skills.
    - I have learned through this class how to not only integrate the internet & computer into my classroom, but also things like Web 2.0 Digital Storytelling, Podcasting and the SMARTboard.

1.My basic interpretation at first was that I understood that it had to do with food I was sure how, it took me a lot longer to understand that it was about how much protein we consume in a year. I think that the overall design could be much more effective in they put it in a pie chart and used colors along with percentages or something the way it is currently laid out it is hard at first to understand if each of those things are a related item or if they are all separate ideas, once you understand they fall under the umbrella of protein it helps, but it’s not the first thing I look at. I like the use of color, although as I said they could do it better in a pie graph and I also like the grouping of graphics and it talked about in the power points shape is important, I feel like I have to read a rectangle box left to right and I was still wondering what I was missing, with a pie chart I think I would better understand that all the information is related. As Donis A. Dondis said “What you see is a major part of what you know, and visual literacy can help us to see what we see and know what we know.” Our job in visual literacy is to get people that see things differently than we do to still see the message we are trying to convey!

1.Q: James is frustrated and saddened by the comments his high school peers are making about his sexuality. Furthermore, it appears a group of male students are creating fake e-mail accounts at Yahoo.com and are sending love notes to other male students as if they came from James - who is mortified at the thought of what is happening.
A: Obviously it is unacceptable for this to happen. First I would reassure James that he did the right thing by coming to an adult, and then I would set up a team of collaborators to deal with the issue. Parents would be notified and asked to sit in on any discussions with school attorneys and councilors. Once the perpetrators are identified I would ask each of them as well as their parents to meet with myself, school administrators and potentially attorneys to discuss the ramifications of such actions. Obviously I would be informing them that if this sort of behavior is continued that there could be legal and criminal ramifications for the young teenagers which could negatively affect them for the rest of their lives. We would take steps with the parents to make sure the behavior is stopped and that James is no longer being harassed, as a teacher I would follow up with James, weekly if necessary, to ensure the bullying has stopped. If it has not I then (along with school administrators) inform the authorities and partner with them to handle the situation from there. Unfortunately, teens have killed themselves due to cyberbullying in the past and therefore it shows just how seriously teachers and schools must take this threat. Kids need to know it’s no joking matter and if they keep it up there will be legal ramifications.
